A case manager - a face of hope...

As a case manager in a shelter for the homeless one is the face of hope.

When people want a break from their routines they go to a holiday resort, however, people go to the shelter when there is nowhere else to turn.

Someone said the absolute cause of homelessness is lack of money. Without money it is not possible to pay rent or to settle utility bills. Lack of money has many causes including recent family changes that affect the balance between income and expenditures, rejection by friends, poor budgeting skills, and a host of reasons besides.

Lack of affordable housing and unemployment are common reasons given for homelessnessness among persons in families. Poverty and domestic violence also contribute to homelessness.

Some of what I share here is personal experience, some of it is based on encounters with those who shared their experiences while others are created from incomplete stories pieced together.
